American Red Cross of Central New Jersey uses Internet to Strengthen Safety Efforts
EWING, NJ — April
22, 2003 — For the American Red Cross of Central New Jersey,
the events taking place half-way around the world are affecting
the local community. Civilians need guidelines when the homeland
terrorism threat is “high,” local families of military
personnel need support in communicating with and dealing without
their loved ones, and the Red Cross’ need to streamline their
channels of communication to make information immediate and accessible
is paramount.
Their year-round responsibilities are no less vigilant. They protect
local communities by teaching people to prevent, prepare for and
respond to emergencies. Providing disaster preparedness education,

the ways that the Red Cross serves community residents. In order
