In 1999, husband and wife team Michael A. and Sarah E. Miller decided the time was right to take their Internet marketing agency, Set Now Solutions, from a part-time, freelance venture to a full-time business.
Ewing-based Set Now provides Web site design, e-commerce and other multimedia consulting services.
The economy was doing well and Central Jersey businesses were increasing resources for Web-based marketing.
"We were in the right place at the right time," said Michael Miller, Set Now's vice president and creative director.
In 2004, the company began running an Internet greeting and thank-you card business, CorpNote, from its own dedicated Web site, CorpNote.com.
The idea for CorpNote sprang from a need the Millers themselves identified.
"Growing Set Now Solutions has been a very hands on, face-to-face process for us," said Mr. Miller, with company founders regularly attending trade shows and making public presentations.
"What we found was, after we went to these events, we wanted to follow up," says Mr. Miller, but e-mail was not very special and sending everyone a Hallmark card was impractical. E-card options already on the Internet were unprofessional, so the Millers started up CorpNote, thinking "if we need this tool maybe others do too," Mr. Miller said.
They were right.
In addition to the Millers, Set Now has three full time employees. Mr. Miller said he can't predict how many employees the company may have in five years, but notes "we are absolutely dedicated to growing this company."
