President's Message

With this first President's Message, I'd like to repeat my sentiments expressed during Installation at the June dinner meeting and say how proud and honored that I am to be serving our Mercer members for the next two years as President of the Chapter. Our Chapter has grown exponentially in a short time, and with the help of our energetic Mercer Board and membership, I'm confident we will experience continued growth in our numbers and in what our Chapter has to offer women business owners. Not only does Mercer boast of fantastic networking events and opportunities, but our membership provides great support and a unifying dedication to the core of business ownership. With our expansion as a Chapter, the more opportunities we will all have to share in that success.

During the upcoming year, you can look forward to cross-chapter events and participating in a Central Region event planned for April 2006, in addition to Mercer's regular dinner meetings, marketing roundtables, breakfasts, open houses, and book club sessions. Mercer has summer events locally as noted on our calendar. Join us, also, in attending the Monmouth-Ocean annual beach party on July 21st at Jenkinson's Pavilion in Point Pleasant and the Northern Region Networking Cruise and Expo to be held on August 9th in Weehawkin.

In closing, for myself and on behalf of the Chapter, I thank Lisa Snyder for her capable leadership over the last two years as President. Instead of passing the gavel during Installation, she passed to me The Watering Can. So, to the Mercer membership, during my term, I commit to giving to the Board and the Chapter enough water to help our collective ideas get absorbed through our roots, but not too much to wash them away. I sincerely look forward to your support in tending the blossoming garden of our Mercer Chapter.
