8/5/04 Breakfast Meeting Summary

The Mercer Chapter Breakfast Meeting was held at the Americana Diner on Route 130 in East Windsor on August 5, 2004. 18 existing and potential members attended the informal discussion relating to “Business vs. Personal Time: The Daily Juggling Act.” As mothers, wives, business owners (and several other titles), we are constantly looking for ways to find more time in the day by managing our responsibilities as efficiently as possible. Some ideas for dealing with personal issues during business hours included:

  • Keep one calendar for both business and personal events.
  • Hold weekly family meetings to discuss events of the week so everyone in the family is on the same page.
  • Manage phone calls and email- you can turn off the ringer, or, let it ring and get to it when you can.
  • Trust in resources like your assistant to manage part of your daily business issues or a housekeeper to take care of laundry and cleaning the house- you deserve it!
  • Dress to impress always, you never know who you’ll run into on the street.
  • Lose the guilt! You can integrate business and personal throughout the day.

The next Breakfast Meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at Michael’s Diner on Route 1. Please RSVP by October 21 and send your suggestions to Karen Miller, Breakfast Meeting Coordinator, at millerkhmiller@aol.com or call her at 609-912-9394.
