July's book club meeting was a great success with record attendance. The weather cooperated for a stimulating lunch meeting outdoors at the home of Kim Rowe of Agentive Sales and Marketing Solutions, where we discussed the book, "Seven Secrets of Successful Women," by Donna Brooks and Lynn Brooks. The book was based on a series of interviews with women in the top echelon of American corporations and identified seven areas of expertise held in common by the highly placed women in the study including finding a mentor, learning to communicate effectively, balancing work and home life, networking, understanding politics, increasing visibility and taking smart risks. The book inspired interesting conversation as members compared their experiences from their former lives in the corporate world.

The NJAWBO Business Book Club meets 4 times a year to discuss a business book club selection over lunch. We welcome new members with opinions! Please join us at the next meeting, which is scheduled for Wednesday, October 29th at 12:00 noon at the home of Elizabeth Gaines of Princeton Coaching Partners. There is no cost for the meeting, but please bring a bag lunch. Drinks and dessert will be supplied.
