NJAWBO to Participate in Trenton Small Business Week 2002

The ninth annual Trenton Small Business Week is being held September 30-October 4 throughout the capital city. This year's theme is "Trenton Wakes for Business and Entertainment", and a record number of local and regional small business owners, entrepreneurs, corporate executives and individuals who are starting or changing a career are expected to attend.

The week opens with a Kick-Off Networking Breakfast where Mayor Palmer's annual Small Business Awards will be given. Throughout the week there are over 25 workshops and seminars focusing on the growth and development of small businesses and on the numerous benefits of conducting business in the city of Trenton and the county of Mercer. NJAWBO will play a significant role in the training workshops. The Women's Business Center, headed by Penni Nafus, will present "Are You an Entrepreneur?" on Monday, September 30. Also on Monday will be a seminar on "Connecting Business Success with Community" led by Marsha Stoltman and Allen Zingg, and "Expand Your Business through Telephone Marketing" led by Amanda Puppo. On Tuesday, October 1, Sarah Miller will present "Grow Your Business Using the Internet: Creating an E-business Plan".

Many other programs will be held throughout the week on legal issues, finance, productivity tools, technology, franchising and much more! New this year is a Business Expo being hosted by the Greater Mercer County Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, October 2 at the Lafayette Yard Marriott Hotel. Over 50 area businesses will be exhibiting their products and services. Lots of other networking opportunities will be available throughout the week including the Gala Celebration on Thursday, October 3 at Conduit, A Music Hall.

Plan now to take advantage of as many of the Trenton Small Business Week events that you can. Everything is FREE with the exception of the Mercer Chamber's regular monthly luncheon meeting, which is scheduled for Tuesday, October 1. For more details visit http://www.smallbizweek.com.
