Topic: How to Network Effectively

Presenter: Cheryl Pliskin is the owner of Jest Notes & Baskets, a gift basket company. Cheryl built her company on word of mouth, referrals, and of course, networking. Too often, we go and leave with a stack of business cards that we recycle within a week. Participants will leave with specific skills to maximize the time invested at such events. Ideas will be provided about:

• goal setting
• how to "work a room"
• what to do if “stuck” with one person at a function
• myths & obstacles
• identifying and expanding your personal comfort zone

This session will address:

• preparation
• who you should approach
• frequency of follow-up
• format and type of follow-up

Cost: Pre-registered is $22 for members and non-members. Not pre-registered: $30 for members and non-members. Payment is at the event. Walk-ins are limited due to space.
