Just before my trip this summer the library called to let me know the book I requested was now available for pick up- BRAG! The Art of Tooting Your Own Horn without Blowing It by Peggy Klaus. The author reminds - “It’s not going to happen unless you make it happen, and the crème-de-la-crème opportunities to self-promote are going to come your way when you least expect them."

Mercer NJAWBO is the right place to practice self-promotion in a supportive environment. Some of our programs are formal and full of energy and some of our meetings give attendees a better chance to connect with other members in a small group setting.

Participate in the Marketing Roundtable or Trenton Small Business Week events (www.smallbizweek.com). Enjoy the spirited conversation at the dinner meeting with special guest presenter Marlene Waldock NJAWBO State President. Attend our Prospective Member Open House at Panera Bread and share in the "Women Rising in NJ" symposium (www.prosperitynj.com).

Several of our members have connected multiple times directly with other Mercer Chapter members for rewarding business transactions. Although I can’t guarantee that this will happen everyday- you need to be prepared and present when the occasion does come your way.
