By Karen Hansen, NJAWBO-Mercer Awards Committee
This month’s Awards Committee News spotlights the Woman of Achievement/Rose and Scroll Award, which is given annually by NJAWBO to a non-NJAWBO member who has been a role model for women and who has a record of assisting women business owners. Each NJAWBO Chapter may nominate someone.
Nominees are evaluated on the following four criteria:
- Prior business, professional, and personal achievements
- Specific areas of assistance to women business owners (such as involvement in mentoring and encouragement of new and inexperienced women business owners)
- Volunteer activities (such as involvement in youth, civic, and religious groups; in cultural contributions to her community; in political offices held; in positions held on school and municipal boards, etc.)
- Prior awards and honors
Written nominations for the Woman of Achievement/Rose and Scroll Award should be submitted to the Awards Committee before December 1, 2003.
If you would like to nominate someone for this award, or if you would like to be a member of the Awards Committee, please contact Karen Hansen at 732-398-9809 or khansen@aol.com.
