Upcoming Programs "Sneak Peak"

Thanks to YOUR input and the assistance of many Board and non-Board members, the upcoming season of Mercer Chapter Dinner Meetings is going to be "must see" programming for your business calendar. Here's a sneak peak:

  • October 10, 2002 - Power Networking and Crafting an Effective "Elevator Speech"
    Presenter: Karen Adey, Peak Strategies

Karen will lead us through a working session to craft a 30-second commercial or "elevator speech" with impact and then we will put it to use in a Power Networking Session that follows. If you've ever felt tongue-tied or ineffective with your business introduction, it's time to get it right!

  • November 14 - "Cutting Edge" Marketing Panel
**Combined Mercer / Middlesex Chapters Meeting**

Our panel of successful marketing professionals will bring you up to speed on the latest techniques in marketing that don't require alot of money AND that can work well for small businesses. Sometimes looking at new marketing strategies and tools is just what we need to give our businesses a boost.

  • December 12 - Holiday Extravaganza

Our annual Holiday Party is a "must see" for several reasons:

    • it is usually our most well-attended meeting (hint: MANY folks to network with),
    • diverse vendors with holiday gift-giving selections for your loved ones, as well as your clients (this makes your holiday shopping a breeze!),
    • treat YOURSELF to a holiday gift from one or more of the vendors - you deserve it!,
    • begin the holiday season with fun and camaraderie (not to mention a terrific meal),
    • surprise guest speaker (yes, it's a secret), AND
    • door prizes galore (last year EVERYONE won a prize).

  • January 9 - Small Business Planning for the New Year
Presenters: Sherise Ritter, CPA and Marguerite Mount, CPA of the Mount Ritter Group

Sherise and Marguerite will share their insights and tips for strategic business planning for small businesses. What better way to start the New Year than with a viable business plan for success? Come and find out how to begin the planning process...and then how to follow through.

  • February 13 - Creating Your Own Brain Trust Panel
Presenters: Steve Klein, Steve Portrude and William Rue

Utilizing this strategy, these businessmen have grown highly successful companies. In this panel they will share how YOU can use this technique to get serious about bringing your business to the next level of success.

  • March 13 - Self Defense Strategies
Presenters: Angela Deitch, Angela Deitch Consulting and Self-Defense Specialists (TBA)

We will be "tackling" both physical and verbal self- defense issues in this seminar designed to promote well-being and safety in ALL situations. Led by experts in fields of verbal and sexual harassment issues, as well as in self-defense for women.

  • April 10 - Branding Your Business
Presenter: Marc Engelman, VP and Chief Brand Intelligence Officer, Princeton Partners, Inc.

Everyone says branding is so important to your business, but what EXACTLY is it? Find out the six easy pieces that constitute the brand proponent puzzle from this branding expert who teaches a Branding Fundamentals course at Mercer County Community College. Learn how you can put these components to work in your business.

  • May 8 - Holistic Health Panel

A "healthy" business begins with a healthy YOU - especially if the business IS you. Come and explore some alternative means to not only maintaining good health, but also increasing your energy levels and productivity. Our panel represents a cross-section of the holistic health community, with some new ideas you might want to consider in achieving optimum health and wellness.

  • June 12 - Stress Management the FUN Way
Presenter: Joel Weintraub, the "Humor Pharmacist" and lecturer on Exercise Physiology, Health Education, Nutrition and Stress Management

This promises to be a fun-filled way to end our programming year and begin a "stress-free" summer! Come and experience this "comedic health seminar" involving audience participation and stress reduction techniques.

Think of this year of programming as a mini-course in how to improve your business, build profits, stay healthy (with stress under control), and increase your ability to adapt and thrive. What an educational bargain for the price of a dinner! I'll see you there!
