President's Message

What an exciting time to be a woman business owner in Mercer County and part of NJAWBO! Trenton Small Business Week will be held this year during the second week of October. You will notice that three entrepreneurs from our chapter will be giving seminars, let's get out there and support them. Most of the events in Trenton Small Business Week are free. It is not only a great way to increase your knowledge, but is also a very powerful networking tool. Our very own Marsha Stoltman is on the planning committee overseeing the programs; please check our calendar of events, as there is something for everyone. My advanced congratulations on a job well done go out to all who are part of this spectacular event, I know all your hard work and planning will produce an exciting week that will be talked about for some time to come.
As you are all aware the current administration has made some changes to the business tax in New Jersey that could drastically affect your business and the taxes you pay. To find out how they will impact you make sure you attend our seminar on the 29th of October. The Mercadien Group will be presenting these changes to us in a language we can understand. Make sure you do not miss this event; the new changes will affect us all! Please see our calendar for the details!
This month Karen Adey, president and CEO of Peak Strategies will speak to us on developing and/or improving our "elevator" speech. This is a skill that every businessperson should have, sometimes it is your only shot at promoting what you do and how you do it differently than another businessperson. If you cannot attend our dinner meeting, don't forget the other events on our calendar. They are all worth your time and effort.
I look forward to seeing you all at our dinner meeting on the 10th!
