3/24/04 Breakfast Meeting Summary
The Mercer Chapter Breakfast Meeting was held at the Americana Diner on Route 130 in East Windsor on March 24. Thirteen existing and potential members attended to hear Self-Help Tips for the Solopreneur. The discussion centered on the many issues faced by small business owners in the establishment of their companies. Some common issues involve:
- Deciding on the type of entity, e.g., S Corporation, C Corporation, and LLC.
- How to grow the business – networking, advertising, professional alliances, e.g.
- Proper use of e-mail.
- Differentiating products and services from the competition.
- Making a great first impression and being aware of first words spoken and appearance.
In keeping with the bi-monthly schedule, the next Breakfast Meeting will be held on the fourth Wednesday of May on the 26th at the Princetonian Diner on Route 1 in Princeton. The topic will be, "How to do Business with Family and Friends." As always, suggestions for future topics are always welcome. Please RSVP by May 24 and send your suggestions to Liz Scafa, Breakfast Meeting Coordinator, at lizscafa@yahoo.com or call her at 609-689-1281.
