As an attendee at the NJAWBO Annual Business Opportunities & Profits Expo, I took notes during the panel discussions of successful women business owners. Many concepts discussed by the presenters "caught my ear". Here is my top 10 list -worthy of mentioning for those members that were unable to attend the event.

1. Flexibility is key in planning success
2. Don’t be afraid to ask for help
3. Be lean & consistent/Don’t over-leverage
4. Walk away if it is not the right job
5. Develop a brag sheet/Develop contacts/Get your name out
6. Learn to play poker
7. Get a male AND a female mentor
8. Develop products that consumers want
9. Conservative actions gain respect within your peer group
10. See the donut not just the hole

When you read over the list of success concepts, you probably see a few that are already part of your business philosophy and a few that you can try to incorporate in the future. Mercer Chapter events give you the opportunity to implement several of these ideas on a regular basis.
