Awards Committee
By Karen Hansen, NJAWBO-Mercer Awards Committee

If you missed last month’s newsletter, you may not know that Nina Melker, First Senior Vice President of Yardville National Bank, was selected as Mercer Chapter’s 2004 Woman of Achievement, making her eligible for the State organization’s Rose and Scroll Award. This award honors a non-NJAWBO member for her business, professional, and personal achievements; her involvement in assisting women business owners; and her contributions to her community. Nina’s many accomplishments in business and her community, and her generous support of Mercer Chapter, make her an outstanding choice for this award.

Nominations for another important award closed on Jan. 31. Thank you to everyone who suggested candidates for the prestigious Business Woman of the Year Award. This award honors a woman business owner who is a NJAWBO member and who has distinguished herself in her business, in NJAWBO, and in her community. The Mercer Board will vote on nominees and make their choice in late Feb. The winner’s name will then be forwarded to the State Board in March, at which time the Board votes on all chapter nominees and chooses the State Business Woman of the Year.

If you would like to be a member of the Awards Committee, please contact Karen Hansen at 732-398-9809 or khansen@aol.com.
