President's Message

Great news!!! We currently have 72 members and our membership committee tells me that they have plenty of "HOT PROSPECTS". Due to our expansion, we are undergoing a strategic plan headed up by Grazina Crisman, Productivity Coach and Professional Organizer. Please be on the look out for new policies and procedures that will ensure our chapter runs efficiently and effectively. Kudos to the membership committee headed up by Paula Gould for a job well done!
This has been a very difficult winter for many people in NJ and we are all looking forward to SPRING! For many of us Spring represents a new beginning, longer and warmer days make it easier for people to stay focused and motivated on the job at hand. For a business owner the second quarter can be a great time to evaluate how your business plan went during the first quarter. If your plan did not produce what you anticipated, it is still early enough in the year to adjust and change your plan to ensure all yearly goals are met. NJAWBO offers many ways to help your business stay on the right track. Why not check out the Women's Business Center Courses? Perhaps it is time to head back to the classroom to expand or grow your business. Every six weeks our Marketing Roundtable meets, the topics are always great and the information is FREE, check it out! Have you read any good business books lately? Our business book club is a quick easy way to obtain knowledge that is current and to participate in a lively discussion over lunch. You can find out what we are doing by checking out our Web Site on a regular basis.
March 20, 2003 is public policy day; please reserve the date and plan on being there, you will not be disappointed. As I have mentioned in my previous messages, NJAWBO has a wonderful reputation in Trenton which is all the more reason why we need a strong showing on March 20. During Public Policy Day not only will you hear first hand from the Governor and his cabinet members about opportunities for Women Business Owners, you will also get to personally meet the Law Makers. As a business person and a citizen in NJ it is very important to stay on top of what is going on in Trenton. Public Policy day is a great way to get to know the people who have the power to be a catalyst for change in our state.
March is Women's History Month and to celebrate it we have partnered with the Women's Business Center and The Untied States Small Business Administration to host a luncheon. Melanie Sabelhaus, Deputy Administrator US Small Business Administration in Washington DC will be our keynote speaker. President George W. Bush emphasized in his state of the union address last month that we need to help our small businesses grow, come hear what they have in store for small and minority owned businesses. Be on the look out for your invitation via a broadcast email.
I look forward to seeing you soon.
