Marketing Roundtable

This is a members only event; however, a non-member may attend once before joining our chapter.

Marketing Roundtable Meeting

Instead of our usual Marketing Roundtable for March 20th, we are inviting everyone to attend the Chamber of Commerce of Princeton's Business Council Breakfast which is entitled "How to Best Market Your Business in the Media". Arlene Schragger will be moderating the presentation and participating in a roundtable discussion format along with 5 or 6 other well known media specialists. The professionals will move from table to table (3 times) and take questions and specific problems from and give general information to those attendees seated at the table. It's a much more personalized way of getting information and give and take from your fellow Chamber members.

As Mercer NJAWBO members, we are members of the Chamber and can attend at the member rate which is $16.

Time: 7:30 am Networking; 8:15-- 9:30 am Roundtable Discussions; 9:30-- 10:00 am more networking

Synopsis of last month's meeting.

To follow is the list of Marketing Roundtable topics we came up with today during our brainstorming session. It is by no means definitive and should keep growing with suggestions from other members. We hope you will be encouraged to add to the list and join our band of Marketing Roundtablers-- we never fail to learn something new from each other!

  • Internal Marketing: your presentation materials, your web site, your communications including voice mail, etc.
  • Using tag lines to explain your business and give your materials a theme
  • Networking: how, when, why
  • Sales: cold calls, warm calls, permission to call again calls
  • Customer service and other facets of client retention
  • Mining your existing client base with cross-selling and up-selling and asking for referrals
  • Your marketing budget-- ROI Marketing
  • Publicity vs advertising and how to do it
  • The ins and outs of direct mail
  • Analyzing your print materials-- ads, directory listings, yellow pages
  • Giveaways-- promotional products; pro bono work; newsletter type information; door prizes at other people's events; sponsor your own event
  • Introducing new and /or complimentary products into your business to keep it fresh and current
  • Partnerships and alliances and barter/trade offs and referrals to people who don't do what you do

Monthly Marketing Roundtables are a valued added program for members of NJAWBO Mercer. These give and take sessions cover a wide spectrum of business marketing issues and are held on Wednesdays. There is a $10 charge per session to cover refreshments and expenses. The public may attend one session only before becoming a member of the Chapter.
