Breakfast Meeting
The first Mercer Chapter breakfast meeting held on May 21 at Michael’s Diner in Lawrenceville was a tremendous success! Like the monthly dinner meetings, the purpose of the meetings is to encourage the exchange of ideas among NJAWBO members and prospective members alike. Meetings will be scheduled at different facilities throughout Mercer County for the convenience of all participants.
"Defining and Finding Your Ideal Client" was the topic of the first meeting. As business owners, this is a subject that should be a prominent part of our business plan - but may not always be. Participants described the qualities they look for in prospective clients, which led to an active discussion, providing members with actionable ideas for their specific business.
The power of networking was evidenced at this event by a jeweler being put in contact with another vendor to co-host home parties, and a financial advisor being put in contact with a divorce attorney to potentially hold joint seminars. In addition, the informal setting provided the opportunity for each participant to describe in detail the type of clients they look for, which could lead to referrals from the group.
Feedback from the meeting was very positive, with the general consensus recommending that future meetings be held on a bi-monthly basis, each with a topic to be announced in advance.
The next meeting has been scheduled for July 23, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Princetonian Diner on Route 1 in Princeton. The topic will be "Developing a ‘Thank You Program’ for Clients and Referrals." Please contact Breakfast Meeting Coordinators Liz Scafa at (609) 844-7920 or Linda Principe at (609) 799-6529 to reserve your place at the next meeting. Feel free to offer suggestions for the locations and topics for future meetings.
