Summertime Marketing
In June, NJAWBO Mercer's Marketing Roundtable discussed the ways and means for summertime marketing, using as a basis of discussion a wonderful email marketing newsletter written by NJAWBO member Adrienne Zoble. We wanted to share a part of her newsletter with our fellow NJAWBO members as a stimulus for each of your marketing programs this summer.
It begins with the way people look upon the summer months. The general wisdom is that "everyone's on vacation." Certainly, people do vacation during the warm weather; but they don't vacation for the entire summer. Only children do that.
Few business owners vacation for more than one summer week. That leaves 12 weeks to reach your prospects and stay in touch with your clients and customers.
Conventional thinking doesn't go away, but it affords the more enterprising individuals a wealth of business opportunities.
What marketing activities could serve you well this summer? Here are just some of the possibilities:
- Creation of Marketing Team/Virtual Corporation
- Removal of Obstacles to Marketing
- Preparation of Marketing Plan
- Definition and Prioritization of Markets
- Guidelines for Customer Service
- Training in Cross Selling
- Sales Follow Up
- Development of Media Advertising Schedule
- Public Relations Program
- Employee Evaluations
- Staff Meetings
- Newsletter Kick-Off
- Direct Mail/Marketing Letter Campaign
- Mailing List Generation/Maintenance/Update
- Letterhead Package Design/Update
- Brochure: New/Review/Update
- Other Promotional Materials: New/Review/Update
- Client Check-Ins/Appointments/Meals
