Awards chair, Helen Burton, is now accepting nominations for the following awards:

The Teal Heart – Acknowledges NJAWBO members for outstanding service and dedication to the chapter. Members may receive this award no more than once every three years. There are no restrictions on the length of membership.

At the February 2005 meeting the Teal Heart Awards from the Mercer Chapter were presented to Karen Miller, Suzanne Rosenblum and Laurel Wagenheim. Suzanne was awarded a Teal Heart for her organization of the Chapter's participation in the Race for the Cure in October 2004. Karen and Laurel were also awarded Teal Hearts for their work as co-chairs of the Fall 2004 New Member Madness campaign, which increased the visibility of the chapter in the Mercer County area.

Business Woman of the Year – Honors a member who has distinguished herself in her business, in NJAWBO, and in her community. The recipient of this award must be a NJAWBO member and a business owner for at least three years.
Linda Principe was the 2005 winner of this award both for the Mercer County chapter and for the State organization.

Woman of Achievement/Rose and Scroll Award - Recognizes a woman non-NJAWBO member) who has been a role model and who has a record of assisting women business owners.
Jennifer MacLeod was Mercer chapter’s nominee for this award in 2005. She was also the winner of the State award.
