Community Works Workshops
Date: January 30, 2006
Time: 5:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m.
Location: Frist Campus Center, Princeton University
Community Works on January 30, 2006, from 5:00 to 9:15 p.m. at the Frist Campus Center, Princeton University, offers 18 workshops with knowledgeable expert speakers. Founder Marge Smith (NJAWBO's speaker at CLT last year) will introduce the program. The registration fee is $27; register on-line at www.PrincetonCommunityWorks.org. Community Works is designed to support the partnership between volunteers and nonprofit agencies by addressing three key elements of success:
- Networking - to bring likeminded people together to get acquainted and establish ties;
- Increase awareness of community resources - to avoid duplication of services and enable appropriate referrals and collaborations;
- Training - to equip volunteers, staff and administrators with the knowledge and skills necessary to accomplish significant work.
Community Works brings people face to face to build new bridges and strengthen the bonds that already exist between them.
Blood Donor Program - Give the Gift of Life - Give Blood
The University Medical Center at Princeton's Blood Donor Program plays a key role in the care that the hospital provides. Each year, we transfuse 3,500 units of blood to adults and children. Blood is needed to treat accident victims, patients with cancer, surgical patients and many others. Our goal is to collect enough blood through our community-based donor program to meet the needs of patients.
