so, what's up with the dog?
The
dog is named Clary, and she was a "last-chance" pound
puppy. We found her at PetSmart during their adopt-a-pet Saturday's,
where the animal shelters bring pets to meet their new families.
Supposedly, she was hit by a car and dropped off anonymously at
the Edinburgh Animal Hospital in Mercerville. They fixed her up,
and brought her to the Hamilton Township Animal Shelter. She was
adopted, but then returned to the shelter because the new owner's
other dog was too rough. That's what made her "last chance"
status. As it was described to us, if she was not adopted within
two weeks, she would have been put to sleep.
We adopted Clary in July, 1999, and she has become an integral part
of the Set Now family. In addition to becoming a 70 lb. lap dog,
Clary has also shown a tremendous capacity toward problem solving.
Every photograph of her looks like she is contemplating the next
task at hand. As so, she makes a wonderful, inspirational, insatiable
and irresistible mascot, icon and coworker. Clary has appeared in
various print ads, and is proficient in HTML, Adobe Photoshop and
catching Frisbees. (Actually, she is expert in catching Frisbees.)
"The Clary campaign has been one of our most successful," says Sarah Miller, President of Set Now Solutions. "The camera loves her. And she works for kibble."
